01: ISYS Releases New OEM Search Solution

The ISYS Dev Team strikes again with its second major release of 2009 — ISYS:sdk 9.  Designed to provide OEMs and ISVs with best-in-class integrated search solutions, the new ISYS:sdk delivers significantly enhanced power and scalability, de-duplication, parametric search and more.  There’s no question that OEM search activity is heating up, and we’ll be posting some of our most recent wins in the coming weeks.  In the meantime, we invite you to read the ISYS:sdk 9 press release.

02: ISYS Powers EMC’s SourceOne archive indexing

Our partner EMC recently announced its new data archiving platform, SourceOne. EMC says the new architecture is designed to meet today’s pressing e-discovery and compliance needs. ISYS is pleased to play a key role in this new solution, providing an OEM search solution that serves as the backbone indexing and query engine for archived data. 03: Ovum: ISYS Breaking the Duopoly

We’re pleased to announce the release of the newest addition to our family of OEM search solutions — ISYS File Readers.  The ISYS File Readers are an embeddable set of document filters for extracting text and metadata from more than 200 file, email and container formats, in 60 different languages.  ISYS File Readers compete with similar products from Oracle (Outside In) and Autonomy (KeyView).  ISYS File Readers provide information management software vendors and companies relying on Apache Lucene with a powerful and proven document filter alternative.

04: Searching Google Patents With ISYS

We recently partnered with ArnoldIT on a demonstration site that enables visitors to search 10 years of Google Patents using the ISYS:web search solution for enterprise search, intranet search and site search.  ArnoldIT officially announced the new site today.  For the Google Patent Search demonstration site, we unlocked a handful of advanced search, discovery and mining capabilities (what Steve Arnold refers to as “beyond search” functions).  These include: parametric search; context clouds; intelligent query expansion; auto-classification; ISYS Entities; and metadata refinement.

05: CMSWatch Search Report Updated

The folks over at CMSWatch released its “cross-check” of the 2009 Search Report.  We encourage you to check it out, as it’s one of the more in-depth information access report available.

With all due respect to the great search team at CMSWatch, we do have to highlight that the lag between vendor interviews and when the report is published is somewhat disappointing.  We certainly understand the massive challenge they face in keeping on top of this fast-moving, crowded market, but we all can appreciate just how much changes in this space over the course of nine months.

The pace of innovation and growth at ISYS is the highest it has been in our 20-year history.  As you follow this blog over the course of 2009, we’re confident you’ll see exactly what we’re talking about.  We very much look forward to briefing the CMSWatch team on what we’ve been up to since June 2008.  In the meantime, we invite you to review the report and then call ISYS to learn about the latest and greatest.

06: ISYS Names Bob Smith President, The Americas

The US division of ISYS Search Software has been buzzing over the hiring of Bob Smith as our new President of The Americas Operations.  Bob comes by way of the Silicon Valley start-up world, where we successfully led and grew a handful of emerging tech companies.  You can read the full detail of his hiring here.

This continues our exciting 2009 growth plans that began late last year with the hiring of Scott Coles as our new CEO.  It’s going to be a big year for your friends at ISYS, so stay tuned to this blog for updates.

07: “ISYS Anywhere” Demo at LegalTech 2009

If you’re based in New York City or will be attending the New York LegalTech show, we invite you to stop by our booth (#326) for a demonstration of our “ISYS Anywhere” technology.  ISYS is actively developing mobile enterprise access solutions that take advantage of the latest mobile devices, and we’d like to show you the initial implementation of this initiative.

09: Interview With ISYS CEO Scott Coles

An addled goose who goes by the name of Steve Arnold recently interviewed our new CEO, Scott Coles, as part of ArnoldIT’s Search Wizards Speak series of interviews with enterprise search executives.  The interview covers a lot of ground, including  ISYS’s plans for search in 2009 and beyond.

What’s clear is ISYS is taking everything customers and partners have come to know and love about us over the last 20 years and going even deeper to address the real challenges in search and help customers further leverage their search investments.  Some of the ways we’re doing this is through complimentary executive briefings and application audits.

10: ISYS Releases ISYS:web 9, Appoints New CEO

We’ve been deliberately quiet as of late, thanks to a number of fun projects happening behind the scenes here at ISYS.  This week was just a taste of what’s to come in 2009.  In addition to announcing the appointment of our new CEO, Scott Coles, we also launched Version 9 of our ISYS:web information access and discovery solution for intranet search and site search.  The folks at EContent and Arnold IT covered it here and here.

Additionally, we rolled out our new website.  Collectively, these milestone moments kick off a new phase in our formidable history.  The year ahead for ISYS will be characterized by aggressive growth on all fronts, most importantly on the product development side of things.  We invite media, analysts and customers to contact us to learn more about our direction and what the roadmap looks like.
